The 2022 Volkswagen Taos is fast approaching, looking on track to hit dealerships in spring 2021. We expect it will do a bang-up job of filling the crossover segment demands just below the Tiguan, as the Atlas Cross Sport has done so admirably for the Atlas.
After teasing us with silhouettes and tidbits of information for a few weeks, Volkswagen has finally revealed what the Taos looks like with an official video unveiling. Volkswagen has recently announced a new SUV to be added to its lineup: the Volkswagen Taos. Alongside the Volkswagen Atlas, Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport, Volkswagen Tiguan, and new Volkswagen ID.4, that brings the total current number of VW SUV models up to five.

Inspiration for the Name of the Newest VW SUV
Volkswagen has excited many with their announcement of a new SUV that will slot under the Tiguan in the same manner that the Atlas Cross Sport slots under the Atlas. The Volkswagen Taos, as it’s known, was designed specifically to appeal to the North American region. It makes sense, then, that Volkswagen tried to choose a name that would also resonate with American customers.
