What does “Certified for Court” mean?
The Certified for Court fee only applies if you need a certified copy of the title and registration. To get the information certified for court, submit a completed Secretary of State Information Request Form or send a letter requesting a certified copy. The $10 fee applies to each certified vehicle record requested.

How long does it take to receive Illinois title and registration information on a vehicle?
There’s typically a 10-day delay in the release of information on an individual vehicle record. This delay may not apply if you’re one of those exempt entities referenced above.
Does requesting vehicle information also give info about the driver?
Typically, only vehicle information is provided when Title and Registration are requested. However, some entities, such as law enforcement, government agencies, and employers, can get more information if they so choose.
