Starting off, the Altas is the larger of the two models, featuring a standard seven-passenger seating capacity and a maximum of 96.8 cubic feet of cargo space. It features a distinct wide stance that is great for large families.
The Tiguan, on the other hand, is a bit smaller than the Atlas. While it offers the option for a seven-passenger configuration, it comes standard with a 5-passenger design. In its five-passenger configuration, the Tiguan offers more designated cargo space behind its second-row seat, though it features a smaller maximum cargo capacity at 73.5 cubic feet.
