Redesigned Exterior
The facelift bestowed on the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas brings it into closer similarity with the more recently released Atlas Cross Sport two-row SUV. Front and rear bumpers are reshaped, adding three inches of length to the machine.
Chrome lines span the width of the car, flanked by designer LED headlights that convey more angular and aggressive vibes than models past. Despite similarities, the 2021 Atlas sets itself apart from the Cross Sport through the implementation of a different design on its lower air intakes.
Expanded All-Wheel Drive Capability
Those in search of greater capability will be pleased to find that all-wheel drive is newly available on the standard turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. This is in addition to its availability on the optional 276-horsepower 3.6-liter V6 that was in-place for years past. Both powerplants come paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Fresh Technology
Finally, a bevy of exciting technology is being added on to the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas. This includes the updated VW Car-Net app, which allows users to lock and unlock doors, honk the horn, view their vehicle’s location and remote-start their VW through their phone.
There are also newly optional driver-assistance features, including traffic jam assist and road sign display. A new steering wheel is outfitted with the modern VW logo, a logo that’s also visible on the exterior of the 2021 Atlas. Inhabitants of the interior will enjoy spacious legroom, even in the third row, allowing seating for up to seven.
