With a spacious interior, an array of user-friendly features, and composed handling, it’s no mystery why the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas is such a popular machine. In addition to the aforementioned handling, the ride itself is dignified.

Midsize SUV Comparison and Breakdown

The 2021 Volkswagen Atlas excels as the choice for those who value a hefty load of interior space for both humans and cargo. All three rows of seats are comfortable for adults, which is honestly a rarity in the midsize SUV class. The cargo hold is also one of the largest in the segment. Such strengths are visible with the superior figures held by the 2021 Atlas in the table above.

The 2021 Hyundai Palisade brings a lot of value to the table. It boasts an array of excellent features, and the dash layout is pleasantly intuitive. Weaknesses of this model include intrusive wind noise when driving on the highway and styling that is, quite frankly not everyone’s bag. The door pockets are also disappointingly tight. If these downsides are the sort of thing that irk you, it’s best to stray away from the 2021 Palisade.

What’s new on the 2021 Volkswagen Atlas and 2021 Hyundai Palisade?

For 2021, the VW Atlas receives refreshed exterior styling on its three-row version that bring it more in line with the look of the smaller Atlas Cross Sport. All-wheel drive is also newly available with the four-cylinder engine.

Hyundai, for its part, grants a new top-spec Calligraphy trim to the Palisade for 2021. Features among other trims have been reshuffled, with some favorites now standardized.
